Change Your Mind. Change Your Body.

The Organic Difference

Amberleigh CarterComment

"Studies" show that there is no significant difference between organic and non-organic. If organic is a ripoff & a scam, then I'd rather take my chances on investing in healthy food with little-to-no harsh products sprayed on it, than on a product that you know is basically a storage facility for harmful chemicals.

These types of chemicals can lead to allergies, joint aches, headaches, menstrual complications, infertility, inflammation, fat storage, asthma, eczema, a weakened immune system, gut issues, and a host of health problems.

Invest in organic, & you're investing in your health and quality of life.

Are you REALLY allergic to foods?

Amberleigh CarterComment

Think about it. How would the human race have survived up until this point in time, if we were truly allergic to the one thing that is designed to keep us alive?

Sometimes we can believe we are allergic to a certain food until we try the organic version and have no adverse reaction. The harsh chemical additives, sprays, & insecticides are what our bodies are allergic to, not the food itself. Organic food makes a huge difference.

Happy November!

Amberleigh CarterComment

This month, get out in nature, be silent, release your fear of change, and take the first step toward letting go of old patterns that have been holding you back from achieving what you truly want in life: to heal, to be healthier, to be stronger, to be more fulfilled at work, to feel more love and connection with yourself, with others, and with the earth....

Who you are today is only the outcome of who you were yesterday. So let today be the actions of who you want to become tomorrow.

Butter Check Your Ingredients

Amberleigh CarterComment

Check your ingredients list! Butter substitutes (on the right) are a recipe for health problems. They lack nutrients and are filled with man-made ingredients that the human body cannot properly metabolize. Additionally, it contains soy, which is particularly harmful to health when consumed in excess.

It's always best to choose a product that has a minimal ingredients list that both you and your body can understand (on the left).

So yes, I CAN believe it's not butter.

Checkin' It Twice

Amberleigh CarterComment

INGREDIENTS lists are everything. Take a look at this. It's important to stop and read what you're actually eating. Your body doesn't care about counting points and calories. It's focused on trying to keep you alive with little-to-no nutrients from your food-like products. And the more colorful the label, the more distracting it is from the truth.

Stop ingesting chemicals your body cannot metabolize (like the beef jerky on the right), and you'll stop feeding disease and fatigue

Snack Time

Amberleigh CarterComment

Looking for a clean, power snack?

Jackson's Honest Potato Chips contain organic potatoes, coconut oil, and sea salt. That's it. No preservatives, no harmful oils, no artificial anything.
These babies trump anything that's been processed and coined as "gluten free".

Potatoes contain high amounts of potassium, which actually aids in blood sugar regulation, lowering blood pressure, and muscle building. As well, sea salt helps to lower adrenalin, regulate hormones, absorb nutrients, and lower blood pressure. And finally, coconut oil is a natural anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-microbial agent that helps fight disease. It also tends to burn immediately as fuel, rather than store as fat on your body. In addition, it is perfect for people with no gallbladders, as it does not need bile to be emulsified. (I'm talking nerdy to you).

Enjoy!

NOT Your Grandma's Cookies

Amberleigh CarterComment

Some people may think, "How'd I get fat? How'd I get so many wrinkles? How'd I get cancer?"

When your body cannot recognize a foreign agent entering the body, it taxes the immune system and causes stress, aging, breakdown, and fat storage: all of which lead to dysfunction and disease.

Health is not about "calories in, calories out".  Always check the INGREDIENTS label.  If you cannot understand what it is that you're eating, chances are good that your body does not either, and your health will pay the consequences.

Move Your Bloomin' A**

Amberleigh CarterComment

It's too expensive or uncomfortable to work out at a gym?

Solution: Start by walking outside (which boosts your mood/gives you a dose of Vitamin D) or around your house in 5-minute increments, 2-4 times a day.  To build muscle, grab anything around you in your home or outside in nature that weighs even 2-5 pounds...it can be a small child (as long as it's yours), a milk jug, or an inexpensive weighted ball.

Once you change your mindset, the world turns into your playground!  So, get up and get moving because life's too short to make excuses to not use your beautiful body.

Mental Health

Amberleigh CarterComment

As May comes to an end, I'd like to touch on mental health, as this month is Mental Health Awareness Month! So, here are some tips for your mental health:

Did you know that there are more neurons in your gut than in your brain?! Mental health is just as important as physical health--your mind & body hold hands. So if you suffer with anxiety, panic attacks, depression, suicidal tendencies, obsessive compulsive disorder, and the like, nutrition is largely a wonderful way to help!

1) Salt water lowers histamine and adrenalin levels, which can greatly help to reduce anxiety and the incidence of panic attacks. (Sea salt or Morton Canning & Pickling salt).
2) Fruit is a wonderful mood-booster and helps to clarify thoughts, as it contains a sugar off of which the brain solely runs.
3) Meat & bone broth are also helpful in building neurotransmitters that are responsible for mood.
4) Staying hydrated with water helps to clean out neurotoxins that could be affecting the way that you think.

5) Low levels of cholesterol are associated with increased levels of depression.  Saturated fat, fruit, and lifestyle changes like meditation, rest, sunshine exposure, and exercise (even if it's walking outside) all help to normalize cholesterol levels and are all excellent ways to get back in touch with yourself, find your center, boost your mood, balance emotions, and empower you to conquer your day!

Always be mindful of what's in your food (& lifestyle), as what you eat (& how you live) can manifest into how you view the world!

G-e-l-atin....It's Alive

Amberleigh CarterComment

Gelatin is an anti-inflammatory protein that's good for reducing symptoms of fibromyalgia, joint pain, tissue degradation, inflammation, asthma, hives, hyperventilation, the size of cancerous tumors, high blood sugar, insulin resistance, strokes, seizures, insomnia, and more.  It also helps to promote weight loss and the health of hair, skin, nails, tendons, and the gut.

Add a dash to your food, smoothies, and/or post workout recovery drink, and reap the benefits.

You can order Great Lakes Gelatin here www.kinectionholistichealth.com/products

Does Your Water Sparkle?

Amberleigh CarterComment

Sparkling mineral water is an amazing source of nutrition. The carbon dioxide (gas that makes it bubbly) is one of the best anti-oxidants for the body, and gives you life and energy. This fizzy water is an excellent mid-day energizer and post workout recovery drink when added to organic, pulp-free Orange juice and a dash of sea salt.

This helps to prevent the build up of lactic acid (which makes your muscles sore), and it prevents/gets rid of muscle cramps (including menstrual), protects against osteoporosis and the hardening of arteries, slows down the release of destructive stress hormones, and gives you a wonderful mental & metabolic boost.

Coconut Water Yourself

Amberleigh CarterComment

Coconut Water contains fructose and potassium, which balances blood sugar, replenishes electrolytes, regulates blood pressure, normalizes cholesterol levels, improves mood, increases energy, and helps conduct nerve impulses and muscle contractions.

It's a wonderful post workout recovery drink and mid-work-day boost!

Bath in the Ambiance

Amberleigh CarterComment

The magnesium in Epsom Salt help you alleviate cramps of any kind, a headache, muscle and joint soreness, anxiety, rapid heartbeat, a slow metabolism, high blood pressure, swollen legs, thyroid and blood sugar issues, and so forth.  It's known as the original "chill pill".

Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) helps to reduce hardening of the organs and arteries, while it also softens and protects the skin.

Before bed, it's best to take an Epsom Salt & Baking Soda bath.

Put 1-2 cups of each in a bath and soak for 15-30 minutes. If your heart rate increases, the bath water is too hot. Adjust the temperature or drink orange juice with sparkling water and a dash of pickling salt to lower adrenalin and stabilize your blood sugar.

Enjoy!

Stay Salty

Amberleigh CarterComment

Salt helps produce energy efficiently, boost the metabolism, and protect against inflammation and degenerative stress.

Salt restriction actually increases blood pressure and damages the metabolism.

Add a pinch of canning and pickling salt or a white Celtic sea salt (NOT table salt) to your liter of quality water to lower adrenalin, alleviate headaches and stomach cramps, create hormonal balance, and inhibit fat-storing stress hormones. Your mood, skin, hydration, and health will all improve.

You're welcome.

The Answer: Real Food

Amberleigh CarterComment

How did human history survive before the genesis of 100 calorie packs, margarine, vegetable oil, weight watchers frozen dinners, 24-hour gyms, body wraps, kale chips, protein shakes, and pills? Humans survived off of the very things we are told to cut out: fat, sugar, salt, and carbs.

The key to health is not found in the industry.
The key to creating health is found within your daily routine.
YOU are your own healer.

If the key to health was in these profitable products out there, then why are we the sickest and most confused we've ever been?

You don't have to spend hours in a gym exhausting yourself. You don't have to cut out fruit because it's "high in sugar". You don't have to count calories. You don't have to eat salad. You don't have to eat broccoli. You don't have to skip meals and starve or deprive yourself. You don't have to run a marathon. You don't have to run, period.

There are very SIMPLE nutrition and lifestyle changes that create the health that you want AND without having to exhaust yourself.

Find out the answers in my HEALTHY BITCHES COURSE.

"Thank You"- Your Sinuses

Amberleigh CarterComment

For all of you suffering with allergies this time of year, have some warm tea with some lemon juice, a teaspoon of coconut oil, and a dash of cayenne or red pepper (a little goes a long way). This concoction is a natural anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, and anti-bacterial boost to help out the immune system.

As well, rub some coconut oil and red pepper on the bottoms of your feet, throw on old socks, and get in bed. In the morning, your sinus cavities should thank you! As always, these ingredients should be organic.

Enjoy!
