Butter Check Your Ingredients

Check your ingredients list! Butter substitutes (on the right) are a recipe for health problems. They lack nutrients and are filled with man-made ingredients that the human body cannot properly metabolize. Additionally, it contains soy, which is particularly harmful to health when consumed in excess. 

It's always best to choose a product that has a minimal ingredients list that both you and your body can understand (on the left). 

So yes, I CAN believe it's not butter.

Checkin' It Twice

INGREDIENTS lists are everything. Take a look at this. It's important to stop and read what you're actually eating. Your body doesn't care about counting points and calories. It's focused on trying to keep you alive with little-to-no nutrients from your food-like products. And the more colorful the label, the more distracting it is from the truth. 

Stop ingesting chemicals your body cannot metabolize (like the beef jerky on the right), and you'll stop feeding disease and fatigue

NOT Your Grandma's Cookies

Some people may think, "How'd I get fat? How'd I get so many wrinkles? How'd I get cancer?" 

When your body cannot recognize a foreign agent entering the body, it taxes the immune system and causes stress, aging, breakdown, and fat storage: all of which lead to dysfunction and disease.

Health is not about "calories in, calories out".  Always check the INGREDIENTS label.  If you cannot understand what it is that you're eating, chances are good that your body does not either, and your health will pay the consequences.

Labels That May Pop Your Eyes

Since I'm a native of Louisiana, I'll use POPEYES chicken as an example of what you are paying for and unknowingly choosing to put into your body.

I'm not sure why the ingredients need to contain every artificial food color under the sun, plus MSG, but there's no need to wonder why Americans suffer from heart disease, diabetes, obesity, cancer, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc., when their food supply contains these synthetic ingredients.  Our bodies can't handle it! 

"Experts" say, "Take out the fat, cut out the sugar, avoid gluten...." How about take out toxic and fake ingredients from your diet to not overburden your liver and the rest of your body?  The liver is responsible for handling blood sugar, manufacturing hormones, and ridding the body of toxins, and if it's constantly trying to understand what it is you just ingested, your body cannot possibly function correctly.    

The sad truth is that food-like products containing anything but nutrients are killing us.  Lab-made chemicals are contributing to all of the food allergies and diseases we see today that never existed before the genesis of fake ingredients.  The food industry has sadly become more interested in a paycheck than in our health.

Want to protect yourself?  CHECK THE INGREDIENTS LABEL if you want a chance at regenerating your body, and stick to eating real, nutrient-dense and healing foods.

Guess What's SOY Annoying....

Let's talk about what's soy annoying:

To be frank (or should I say, Frances), Soy is an estrogen bomb. 

It's not just in soy milk, it's in soy protein powder (yes, your "muscle-building" post workout shakes), edamame, soy sauce, soybean oil, and is hidden in many other products, from frozen pizzas to crackers--so make sure to read the label!

The following are reasons to avoid soy:
1) Soy inhibits absorption of vital minerals, such as magnesium, calcium, & zinc.
2) It decreases thyroid function, leading to a slower and damaged metabolism.
3) It increases tissue growth and accumulation, which can lead to tumor growth and an increased risk of cancer, as well as man boobs.
4) It lowers sperm count and decreases testosterone, which can lead to infertility, fat storage, and hair loss/balding.  Oh and man boobs again.
5) It is harmful to the intestines and digestion.

So do yourself a favor and just avoid the soy, if not for you, for the sake of saving testosterone in this world.

Fire? Grab a Fanta Extinguisher

Next time you want to put out a fire, grab a Fanta drink, as it contains (among many other harmful ingredients) Brominated Vegetable Oil, aka a flame retardant.

This ingredient is also in Mountain Dew, Gatorade Thirst, and other Coca-Cola and Pepsi products. This flame retardant is so harmful to every tissue in the body, that it is banned in all of Europe and Japan; so why did the FDA approve it?  My guess is that it all boils down to money. 

Let this be an example for understanding that no one cares about your health as much as you do.

Be aware of harmful ingredients you may be unknowingly supporting through your purchases; for example:

  • Modified Food Starch
  • Yellow 6
  • Red 40
  • Sodium Polyphosphates (???)
  • High Fructose Corn Syrup
  • Sodium Benzoate

All of which are in this one Fanta product, alone.  You'd think we could trust what is approved to be put in our products.

Moral of the story, read the ingredients label and make an educated purchase.  If no one buys harmful products, they will finally be forced to listen to us.

Gluten-Free Does Not Equal Healthy

The term "gluten-free" has become very popular in today's society.

Not that I disagree with the thought of not ingesting gluten, for many reasons, but a better option would be to avoid grains.  In addition to grains containing gluten, a couple of more alarming points are that grains contain toxic polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) and phytic acid.

PUFAs (i.e., found in vegetable oils, grains, leafy green vegetables, margarines, etc.)

  • Lower the immune system
  • Are estrogenic
  • Inhibit protein breakdown
  • Lower energy metabolism
  • Increase inflammation and aging
  • Contribute to senility
  • Can lead to Leaky Gut Syndrome
  • Can lead to sterility/infertility
  • and so on.

In addition, phytic acid allows for poor bone health and can block the absorption of zinc and magnesium, two essential nutrients in creating an efficient metabolism. 

So, whether or not you may be "gluten-sensitive" or "gluten-intolerant", is less pressing than the issue of you being more "grain-aware".   Furthermore, beware of "gluten-free", processed products that contain a ton of preservatives, fake sugar, and other harmful ingredients.  You may be "gluten-intolerant", but your body is also "toxin-intolerant".  Coconut flour, rice flour, and the occasional organic Jasmine rice are acceptable, all in moderation. 

And remember, it is always best to eat real, whole, organic foods in the right ratios, at the right time, for your particular body.  After all, it takes life to give life.

Why Not Organic?

I recently had a conversation with a gentleman who said, "All of this Organic hype is just a selling tactic.  Why pay more for something, when you can pay less for the same thing?  I figure if it's not immediately making me sick and giving me the sh*ts, then it's fine to eat."

Although I admire the man a great deal, this is a common misunderstanding that many people have today. 

My question is, "Why not eat Organic?"

Clean food must be made a priority.  Yes, the man has a point--you can eat conventional and processed foods and may not immediately experience adverse effects.  However, it will creep up on you.

The chemistry from the food that you eat makes up your cells in your body, which makes up tissues, which makes up organs, which determines how efficiently you function, the way your body looks, etc.  You actually are what you eat, and no one I know of dreams of being jacked up on hormones that beef you up to be fatter, quicker--like so many of those cows out there.

So if you're wondering why all of a sudden, after years, you have developed "allergies", food "intolerances", headaches, hormonal imbalance, acne, and/or other health issues, question how your food is grown and processed. The answers may lie in that genetically-modified, hormone-laden, chemical-preservative-laced "food" out there.

Always try to choose organic, even if you don't believe in it--it can make a serious difference in your life.

Count Ingredients, Not Calories

Pay attention to the quality of your food, rather than the number of calories it provides you.

If the body does not recognize an ingredient, it could lead to a decrease in energy production, an inefficient metabolism, and more stress on the body.

The continued consumption of fake ingredients can lead to the following:

  • Anxiety and panic attacks
  • Irritability
  • Headaches/migraines
  • Muscle and joint pain
  • Slow reflexes and speech
  • Hair loss
  • Lower immune system
  • Impaired hearing
  • Muscle weakness,
  • Cold hands and feet
  • Psychological depression
  • Cognitive difficulties
  • Dry skin
  • Menstrual problems
  • Constipation,
  • Hormonal fluctuations
  • and so on.

If you are suffering with any "ailment", it could be your body telling you something.  Maybe all you need is a change in diet.  Organic, real ingredients are what your body is trying to beg you for, not deprivation through less caloric intake.

Listen to your body, and feed it the nutrients it craves through real food.
